Erte.... another amazing artist to share today

I remember years ago in San Francisco, going to an amazing art gallery which was selling original Erte sculptures and paintings........ I had always loved the artist but was not aware of his other works such as the statues... I regret to this day not investing in one small piece as the artist died almost twenty years later and his work would now cost above and beyond what I could ever afford.
I just thought that I would share a few images and a little video of his work...... I have lots of books and posters myself and like Fortuny and Poiret,  Erte is one of my favourite artists and designers of the era.

ERTE
The Russian-born painter Romain de Tirtoff, who called himself Erté after the French pronunciation of his initials, was one of the foremost fashion and stage designers of the early twentieth century. From the sensational silver lamé costume, complete with pearl wings and ebony-plumed cap, that he wore to a ball in 1914, to his magical and elegant designs for the Broadway musical Stardust in 1988, Erté pursued his chosen career with unflagging zest and creativity for almost 80 years. On his death in 1990, he was hailed as the "prince of the music hall" and "a mirror of fashion for 75 years".

This book has to be the best one in my collection which can be purchased at Amazon.. see link
