Autumn Reflections and Images from the Manchester Canal

The light was so amazing this morning in Manchester!........ Because of this, even the most deprived area can look beautiful if you stroll to the right places. My stroll took me along a part of the canal in Failsworth and Newton Heath which in its "Hey Day " during the Industrial Revolution was probably quite pretty even though it may have been engulfed in a sulphur smog at times.
Today the area is rather deprived even though there seems to be a huge regeneration and the canals have been cleaned up......... lots of fish and consequently the ducks, geese and swans are happy........... there is beauty, if you just take a look......

Happy Duck......... just didnt want to show me his face....

Great reflection and colour... more patterns and textures forming...

Probably my favourite picture as it has all the elements I enjoy... A graphic image in the foreground with a more impressionistic effect in the background, and texture and reflection... which I love....

The swan seemed very content.......

If you have enjoyed these pictures....... these are just a few that I took today........ view the rest on my Flickr.... just on this page....... I would love your comments please.....

  2. Thanks Alison ..... I love taking all sorts of pictures, urban and rural but this area is very urban ad quite deprived and I saw the beauty in the canal area.
