It was only the other day that I read in the newspaper that next year is the Queens Diamond Jubilee............. then I remembered the last one she had.......... the Siver Jubilee because when I was a Young designer (VERY YOUNG) just starting actually, the studio that I used to work with designed teatowels for Irish Linen manufacturers called Thomas Somerset.
I also remembered my first major design for this company which happened to be this commemorative Silver Jubilee teatowel.( in the pic)
I gave my late Mum a whole batch of these which she used till they ended up as rags........ until I discovered this one. Well used but still in fairly good nick....... stealing it from Dad and tucking it away in a drawer somewhere..... until 2 days ago when I hunted for it............... Now I feel really amazed at the design.... truly vintage....... but still scaring me to bits at how long ago this was............... I even remember freaking out about each detail and how perfect I had to get it.... re doing parts of it that I wasnt happy about......... Now I am going to raid my Dads bedlinen cupboard for all the Duvet cover designs I did ....... Watch this space..........
